Lingerie Colours Meaning For Plus Size Women

Gone are the days when self-conscious full figured women sneaked to the sleepwear counter, for fear of being noticed or shying away from their boy friends or partners. Today, a voluptuous figure, with nice curves, buxom busts, alluring cleavages, and full butt are far more appealing and feminine, especially in plus size lingerie. Most men find a handful more enticing than bony elbows and thin legs. So you can take pride in your bounties and be a nonchalant exhibitionist and flaunt with flair and flamboyance in your babydoll sleepwear! Welcome to the world of plus size lingerie!

The timeless black coloured lingerie can make the wearer look tempting and seductive. Black satin plus size lingerie can accentuate the texture of your skin, driving your man wild with craze, wanting to rip apart the fabric and yet be toying with the sheerness of the beautiful color! Black is the color of night, promising dark secrets; an enigmatic color that veils the ultimate truth, yet tempts the seeker to approach his goal with much apprehension. Black is also an adventurous color.

Ever thought of white lacy, frilly plus size lingerie? Brides wear white lingerie in their first night in many countries, because white color is the symbol of purity, virginity, softness, innocence and perfection, the color has been an all time favorite amongst young women for eons! Complementing your creamy skin, or balancing the dusky hues of your complexion, nothing can bare the secrets of your ample busts and also the hidden recesses of your body like a silky white sheer plus size chemise lingerie!

Some real women who have a full figure choose lavender, turquoise or plum coloured plus size lingerie because the colors conceal, yet concurrently reveal the tempting curves. They not only cloak the curves, yet leave much to a man’s imagination, stirring up the strong emotions of love.

Add spice to your honeymoon with a red babydoll! As a rule, guys tend to like sexy, red, lacy lingerie. This is different from what women tend to go for, which is usually something really girly and feminine like pink coloured night gown. Plus size lingerie in cherry red, blood red, crimson all spell nothing but delightful craze, highlighting the seduction of your curves.

Be confident in what you wear, how you wear it. You have beautiful curves and you know that, “When a woman feels good and passionate in what she's wearing, it will show on her appearance!” You will seduce your partner in no time with your new look in your sexy and stylish lingerie.

A Busy Week at MAFW 2012

The beginning week of May was my busy week with schedule to attend the Mercedes-Benz Australian Fashion Week designers' shows in Circular Quay,  Sydney.

There were many beautiful and colourful designs from New Generation shows of young designers (including some Hongkongnese designers).  I like designs from Winson Tan; Chailie Ho; they're beautiful and sophisticated.  Designer Roopa Pemmaraju's beautiful Summer dressess were unique and elegant; Kooey's swimwear collection including women's swimwear and men swimwear featured bold styles and striking colours (what a pity that the swimwear collection is still mainly for a young, slim body!).
For next year 2013, the MAFW organisers plan to move the show time forward to March instead of May (31.4 to 4.5).  I think it would make more sense for designers and buyers as the timing will allow designers to prepare and for buyers to stock their shops.

Double Standards for Plus Sized Fashion

I have just read an article on http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/fashion/fashion-plus-sized-double-standards/story-e6frfn7i-1225875074528
I totally agree with Bruno Schiavi, an Australian fashion veteran, that more designers come out saying they support the plus size range but they don't do as they said and their collections have not included large size. He also said that the designers don't produce plus size fashion because more costs are involved in manufacturing (more fabric, more freight.s..) and that will give them less margins!
I specialise in swimwear design, I understand there is a big difference between costs of making a pair of bikinis size 8 and a set of tankinis or skirtinis in size 24! But I still love designing swimwear for plus size women because in my opinion, women regardless what shapes or sizes they're in; they deserve to look their best. I know there are a lot of plus size women who have fashion consciousness, so even though I earn less margins on my plus size fashion range, I wouldn't mind. The main thing is that my happy customers will make me feel great and that's all I care.

Find Plus Size Swimsuit or Lingerie That Fits and Flatters

According to a recent study, 75% of customers buying clothes on the internet are women. As we all know women are not all built the same, neither should our clothes all be cut the same. For full figured women, we have hourglass figure; rectangle shape; triangle shape; diverted triangle shape…. Finding a plus size swimwear or plus size lingerie especially over internet is a big task.

It is the best if you know your body measurements and body shape. Always look at the swimsuit size chart before you order, every manufacturer or designer has their own sizing measurements.

Size charts can also vary in different countries. They even have different measurement systems. For instance, if you are in countries that use metric system and you want to buy swimsuits online from a country using imperial system, you will have to convert their sizing dimension which is in Inch into Centimetre: say, if the bust is 40’ (inches): 40 x 2.54 = 101.6, it will be 101.6cm; vice versa from countries using metric system if the bust is 101.6 cm and you convert into inches: 101.6 : 2.54 = 40 Inches.

For plus size swimsuits/ swimwear, sizing is not the same among countries.
Size 14 in Australia is generally equal to size 12 (USA), size 14-16 (UK) and size 42 (Europe); so do not rely on the sizing number itself. With plus size lingerie, the sizing is more simple and universal in size 1X to 4 or 5X but there are still different measurements between lingerie brands.

You can not use your dress size for plus size swimsuit size. If your dress size is 14 then your swimsuit size may vary from 16 or 18 (depends on manufacturers). A good rule of thumb is to know your body measurements and compare them to the swimsuit’s size chart on the website that you plan to buy.

Before ordering a plus size swimsuit or plus size lingerie, you should spare some time to read through the product’s description. Usually, online sellers indicate body shape (long, medium or short torso) suitability for the style/design in their descriptions.

Due to health regulation, most of online shops will not accept lingerie return, but with plus size swimwear, make sure you know a website’s return/ refund policy before placing an order.

Last but not least, get recommendation from your friends, family or colleagues who are experienced in purchasing plus size swimwear/ plus size lingerie online.
Find real testimonials from previous customers who were happy enough to post their comments on a website.

Lingerie Caring Tips

Extra care needs to be taken when putting your delicate lingerie on, do it gently and to avoid damage, remove all jewellery with sharp objets when dressing.

Most of lingerie is made from delicate fabric and some of women’s sleepwear include lace or mesh, should be treated with care. The tips below will help you keep your sexy babydoll lingerie last longer.

You should read care instruction label on the lingerie carefully before first time wash; generally, the best way is to wash it by hand in cold water with gentle liquid soap (hand washing liquid) or baby shampoo; do not twist or wring the lingerie as it may cause creases/ wrinkles and extra gentle care needed when washing lace lingerie. Avoid wearing rings with sharp objects that can snag or pull the threats out when you rub the sleepwear. Hang it drip dry in shade (the lingerie’s colour will last longer that way)

If the instruction advice is your lingerie should be dry clean only, you should follow it strictly, otherwise the fabric may be shrank or stretched out and the lingerie will be ruined.

To machine washable lingerie (as recommended on the label), you should put your lingerie in a mesh bag (you can find the bag from a two-dollars shop); wash them together with other delicate clothes and set your washing machine on delicate cycle in cold water.

Never put your lingerie in the clothes dryer because the heat may degrade the fabric.

Do not tumble dry: Tumble drying causes the elastane to degrade and could damage the delicate lace and detailing of your lingerie.

Do not bleach because it will damage the delicate fabrics and will affect the colours

Do not iron your lingerie UNLESS the instruction says otherwise; for the lingerie that you can iron, set the iron at low level because most of lingerie is made from nylon and will get damage easily in hot iron.

With special care for your favourite lingerie, you can keep it in pristine condition for as long as you want it.

Swimwear Summer 2010 Trends

Designs for swimwear tend to come back to the late 70's and early 80's, styles from one-pieces, underwire one or two pieces to studding, metal rings, ruffles. Swimwear trends seem to leave out cutouts, revealing, sexy style, instead, they go back to more glamorous classic styling. Vintage swimwear designs are back with bright colours ruffles, feminine florals and unique one pieces, comfortable but sexy in fashionable cuts, become more popular than they have been in the past. Colours such as reds, greens and blues are main part of the swimwear season.
For lingerie, black lingerie including chemise or babydolls will always be trendy. Red is a perfect colour for lingerie, look for sexy lingerie sets in this color then you'll be right in style! Cobalt colour is a favourite and this coloured lingerie will look great on women in summer time. Lacy lingerie (whole or just lace on the bust) will be fashionable and seductive.
