The Reasons To Cover Your Body at The Beach!

A research from AIHW (Australian Institute of Health and Welfare) and Australasian Association of Cancer Registries (AACR), 2007 has revealed that over 380,000 Australians are treated for skin cancer each year and the melanoma (skin cancer) rates in Australia and New Zealand are around four times as high as the rates found in Canada, America and UK. If you'd like to know more about melanoma and how dangerous the sun rays are, there is an article (Sun damage: The true price of tanning - from http://www.cnn.com/HEALTH/library/HQ/01462.html )which clearly described the symptoms and causes.

Wearing a one piece swimwear or tankinis together with sunscreen, hat and sunglasses will give you good protection from those harmful rays when you're out at the beach!

At http://www.curvysea.com/ , you'll find a range of great body coverage swimwear from size 12 to 20 including one piece bathing suits; tankinis (halter; under wire); skirtinis and swim dresses .

The Danger of Deadly Irukandji Jellyfish!

Hot summer is coming soon in Australia, there will be plenty of people heading to the beach to enjoy swimming and surfing. I thought I should bring up this subject (deadly jellyfish) to warn our women and their families about how deadly the animal is.
The Irukandji jellyfish is found in north Queensland waters during the jellyfish season, roughly from the end of October to early May*. It is only 2.5 centimetres, so tiny and difficult to detect, but can cause death to humans within days.
Symptoms by the jellyfish sting: Having pain and welts forming immediately. A first aid should be applied instantly and a proper treatment (at hospital) should be followed.
During the jellyfish season, it's better to protect yourself and your family (especially young children) by wearing a bodysuit or covering your body as much as you can, and treat with suspicion all unexpected pain, no matter how slight, especially if accompanied by a rash-like.

Five Tips For Shopping A Swimsuit For Full Figure

After a long winter hiding in bulky clothing, it’s the time to enjoy sun bathing at the beach!
“Shopping for swimsuit” can strike fear in most of us, especially if you have curves. God created people in different shapes so we make different styles of swimwear to suit them. The important thing is to know your body (bust, waist, hips and shape) then you should have no problem in finding a fit and flattering plus size bathing suit
What styles of plus size swimwear should you choose? That’s an interesting question!
Again, it depends on your shape, ideally, you should have a swimsuit that accentuates your curve and minimises your flaws.
- To camouflage large hips: Go for Tankiniwith solid dark colour (black; navy…) bottom and printed top to drive the eye upward.
- To minimise tummy: Look for skirtini or swim dress with edges that turn up at the sides. This will make your legs look longer and the skirt looks sexier.
- To create curves for your boyish shape: Long tankini top with printed halter neck would be a good choice.
- To support your large bust: Choose one piece or two piece togs with halter neck which will lift your bust and make it look firmer.
- If your bust is small: Try one piece or tankinis with underwire and padded bras.
Another important thing for plus size swimwear feature is to have tummy control mesh lining; the net liner will make your tummy look firmer and flatter.
I hope these tips will help! Don’t forget to visit my online boutique http://www.curvysea.com/

Five Necessary Tips For A Trip to The Beach!

Summer is approaching, you'd probably plan to have a lot of trips to the beach, there are five necessary things you should prepare first and they are:
1- Sunglasses: Sunglasses this summer are oversized, colorful with plenty of styles to choose when you head out into the sun.
2- Sunscreen: Spray, stick, gel, or lotion? Glitter or tinted? This summer, sunscreen choices are fancy and fun - and still help you avoid sun burns plus protect you from skin cancer.
3- Lip protection: Pamper your lips this summer with sun-block lipsticks or SPF+ lip balm.
4- Summer hat: A hat is large enough to cover your face, to protect your face from expose to the sun which can cause aging wrinkles, brown spots.
5- Swimwear: It depends on your style but if you have some body flaws (stretch marks, belly sagging, uneven body shapes...) and you don't want to show them, then an one piece swim suit (or one piece plus size swimwear); skirtini or swimdress is a choice.

Are Women Getting Bigger?

A survey from Adelaide University in association with Rip Curl showing that the average Australian woman measured 88 cm (bust), 71 cm (waist) and 97 cm (hips), and she would fit a size 16 (95cm, 75cm, 100cm) on the current Australian garment standards. And on the other research from another oganisation revealed that three decades ago, the average women 's size was 12 to 14!
The survey was based on three main body shapes: Hour Glass shape (majority); Heart shape (top body part is larger than the bottom) and Pear shape (narrow top and large bottom).

The Beach Without Men!

I just read an article on http://au.blogs.yahoo.com/marie-claire/2595/ about the pink beach, which belongs to the coastal town of Riccione in north-eastern Italy, where men are banned. Women from all over the world come there to enjoy their "freedom"; they're free from other sex's prying eyes. What a good idea of the owner of the beach! Only one thing I wonder if the beach is mainly for young women (as they said in the article) or for other ages as well (30+ or something)!

Sydney Fashion Forward Show

We had a great evening at the Sydney Fashion Forward Show. The organiser invited the mayoress of Sydney CBD and they had a panel of Fashion experts. There were many young, old designers registered to the show case but only 15 of us were chosen (including me). My model did quite a good job and thanks to her. One thing is that only me who represented my plus size swim wear collection with my real size model, the size that most our mothers, sisters, nieces, friends are. Where are designers for plus size garments with real size models? I need your support by raising a voice to them; well, mainly to fashion organisers.
If you have any comments on this subject, welcome to leave them!
